The core concept of the design was based on the prominent views formed by the intersection of the local urban realm with the green of the Glyfada Golf and, on the background, the merge of the sea with the horizon. Through careful selection to reveal parts of the natural environment and consideration of orientation, the internal layout of the two buildings quotes a hierarchy of views and spaces. Thus, a comprehensive structure developed that balances all these different relations highlighting through a simple gesture the logic of the design. The natural materials across all scales of the buildings’ shell depict the transition from a natural element to a built one. Adapting a minimal construction ethos, the architectural composition investigates the combination of natural materials, through their texture, color and exposure to light.
